A Patron's Oversight
Here lies
Waiwer Sstasywie
“Wai barely trusted his Patron, turns out, even that was too much.”

After weeks of travel and days of planning, Waiwer and his team were making steady headway into the vaults of the flying mageocracy of Sama Kh'Udha, where painful visions from Levistius, Wai's patron had been leading him for longer than even he remembered.
Unbeknownst to Wai and blocked from his memory, when Levistius originally forged his bond with Wai, he lodged a sliver of ice within the tiefling's body - a tiny fragment of the massive glacier entombing and trapping Levistius within his circle of the nine hells.
This sliver was sent with Wai out into the world, to absorb the latent magics of the material plane, and was to be eventually returned to Levistius to lessen the restaints of his bondage through nefarius arcane means.
Unfortunately, this return process was in the end, too much for Wai's body to bear, and upon reliquishing the sliver of ice, exhaustion overtook him and he was no longer able to resist the extreme cold of Levistius's domain, as it encroached into Sama Kh'Udha.
For the first time in a very long time, Waiwer Sstasywie felt the cold, as it froze the blood in his veins and left him standing in the vaults of Sama Kh'dha, trapped forever as a macabre ice sculpture.
