Ode to a Hero, the Death of Bob Dante

Another tale from Peliad, a place where few survive, and those that do wish they hadn't.

In loving memory of Bob, a druid who found peace among badgers and joy in the blast radius of dwarven artillery. Bob gave his life in a stunningly futile act of heroism, shattering a Staff of Power to destroy the realm's greatest enemy. The enemy, unfortunately, possessed basic reflexes and simply stepped out of the way. Though Bob vanished in a flash of wasted magical energy, his spirit survives through his truest kin, a grieving family of badgers who will forever miss his explosive company.
